Postpartum Sidekick

My Journey

It was my own two postpartum experiences that led me to become a postpartum doula. I realized just how important it is to surround new parents during the postpartum period.

I had two very different postpartum experiences. My first was riddled with uncertainty and loneliness, resulting in Postpartum Mood Disorder. I had prepared myself for the pregnancy and birth, but had neglected to plan for those early days and weeks with a tiny human. For my second, I dedicated myself to building my own village of support. These invaluable supports I brought together completed a beautiful postpartum experience.

Since 2018, I have been active in the postpartum community. Most notably with the KWC Babywearing Group as a leader. The COVID-19 pandemic stirred a need within me to increase my ability to support new parents who were unable to access the support and resources they would need. Since starting my journey I have already learned so much and am excited to bring my knowledge and passion to your first forty days with a newborn.

When I'm not busy as a doula, I'm co-founder of Together: For Perinatal Mental Health a local organization that raises awareness and provides support for Perinatal Mental Health in Waterloo Region.

My Values

Support Systems

Whether this is your first baby or not, the postpartum period is a huge shift. I hope to be the calm in the storm as you adjust to life with a tiny human. I believe a postpartum doula is a key asset to your support network as I will help ease your stress and help you find your way as a parent.

Informed, Evidence-based Decisions

It is so important that you know all of your options to ensure you make the best decisions for you and your family. I aim to connect families with evidence based resources. By helping you find all the right information, you will be able to make informed decisions that help uplift you, find your voice as a parent, and advocate for the best care.

Judgement Free Environment

I will be there to support you and your family however you do life. You do you. The first weeks are already so incredibly hard as you recover and get to know your little one. I will do my best to validate you as you transition into your new role as parents.
